Kayaking in Antarctica
In the 2021 expedition, the crew had the unforgettable opportunity to kayak through the icy waters of Antarctica — a highlight of the journey for many. Gliding silently between towering icebergs, they paddled past penguins waddling along rocky beaches and seals lounging on floating ice. One lucky group even had a close-up encounter with a curious pod of whales, surfacing just a few yards away. It was a humbling and exhilarating experience, offering a perspective of Antarctica that few people ever get to see.
We provide all the essential gear, including stable tandem kayaks and specialized kayak jackets to keep you warm and dry. However, it’s a smart idea to bring waterproof gloves — and a spare pair — since your hands will get splashed and temperatures can be chilly. With the right gear and a spirit of adventure, kayaking in Antarctica is pure magic.
We are pleased to announce that the kayaking fees have been underwritten for all Scouts with a generous grant from Blue71.
